Essentially this film is Armageddon’s follow up. One man on earth, all alone. He as to remain undetected from rabies infected humans in order to find a cure for them. Thats the story, could be written on the back of a postage stamp, yet they manage to fill 100 minutes of sliver screen time. Three stars is an accurate rating. It was an OK film, there was action in small doses and a snigger of a laugh strategically placed. This film could have been a great blockbuster, however at the end of film you really are in two minds of whether the Francis Lawrence (The Director) did the best job possible!
Ok, so why does Hitman deserve 4 stars? Firstly it had the 4 out of the 5 qualities that make a good film. It had action, a few laughs (be it they were very cheap), time wise was spot on (any longer you would have got board any shorter and would have ruined the story), and great actors. What is missing from this mix? It a personal thing, however I found that the storyline was a bit basic. Ok I haven’t played the game (that others rave about) but found the idea of a hitman killing someone just a bit basic, it could have been padded out more. Overall defiantly worth seeing.
