Website Redesign

Some of the more astute of you will have noticed that over the past week, my website has gone under a significant redesign. What was once built in Rapidweaver, and therefore required proprietary software to edit and create content for, it is now built exclusively using the WordPress CMS architecture, considered by most as the open standard for website design.

As the site is good enough to launch, but not yet 100% complete, some links may be broken and some content loading time may take a little longer than would be ideal, however things will settle down over the next few weeks.

A few things which I am excited about is the ability for users to register on the site themselves, and have custom secure galleries created for them to view their photographic proofs on. This will also be useful when I get round to creating a family section, which can be made available exclusively to family members to displace information and photographs of family events.

The majority of the content has ported over from my old site without a hitch, however if you subscribed to my blog by email, you may have to do so again. For those who subscribe via RSS, the link for the feed has changed. To subscribe to the new RSS feed click here.

I hope you like the new redesign as much as I do. Personally I think its cleaner and easier to navigate.

If you have any suggestions on how I can make it even better, please leave a comment below.

I hope you'll agree that the new design really is an improvement from the old.
